We will have several New CMA members joining us from our Forming Chapter, "Reconciled Riders," Randle, Washington, and CMA Interest groups in Astoria/Long Beach, and Centralia/Chehalis.  We also would like to invite ANYONE interested in Local, Regional, or National Christian Motorcyclists Association to join us.  Shell and I have visited Churches in Centralia/Chehalis, and have been "warmly" welcomed by The Centralia Community Church of God, and Bethel Assembly of God in Chehalis.  Pastor Mark Fast, Community Church of God, and his congregation, introduced most of their bikers to Shell and myself during their second Sunday Service.  We appreciate that very much, and Thank You!
For those of you traveling a distance, and have asked about overnight accommodations, there are several motels in the area, and Midway RV Park one mile from Borst Park.  To reach Midway RV, head West on Harrison Avenue 8 tenths of a mile to Galvin road.  Turn left, and continue driving for about 2 tenths mile.  Midway is on the left side of the road, (360) 736-3200.  Tent rates are also available.  Reservations are suggested.  Should desire "dry" camping, Art and Debbie Sporseen of The Olympia Light Riders, have made their farm available to you as well.  Please call Art or Debbie at (360) 790-5327 for more information.

Please do not hesitate to contact Shell, or myself with any questions.
We are looking forward to a Fabulous Time of Food, Fellowship, and Rejoicing!

Jones Creek needs you!

From Jones Creek Trail Riders Assn.  (SW WA)

As you may have heard after more than seven years of "planning" the DNR has finally cleared the way for new trails to be built at Jones Creek (WA). The ten year plan includes construction of approximately 58 miles of new 4x4, ATV, and single-track trails.
For those of us who have stuck around through all the years of government delays and red tape, it's a big relief to see it actually happening on the ground. The Jones Creek Trail Riders Association (JCTRA) is tasked with building the ATV and single-track trails and Pistons Wild will be handling the 4x4 trails. We began construction of the first ATV width section of trail in May and it is nearly complete. We hope that the DNR will be able to post it open for the public by the end June. The next section will be the first legally built single-track trail in SW Washington in decades.
JCTRA 's membership like many clubs has gone up and down over the years. The DNR has not made it easy for us to do business with the trails being closed half the year, the loss of the Rock'n'Roll Poker Run, and then the Discovery Pass which promised millions of dollars to go to recreation programs like this...but has yet to pay out in any measurable way. My hope is that the news of building new trails will bring people out of the woodwork and build the club and the trails back up.
The DNR does not have the finances and/or manpower to build all these trails. The financial structure in Washington is simply different from Oregon's. The question also has to be asked, would riders enjoy riding what the state of Washington would build if it were left completely up to it's own devices? I believe the answer is no, volunteer influence is essential to building enjoyable trails.
In short we need more volunteers to build these trails. I've reached out via several of the local forums (OMRA, Thumpertalk), on the JCTRA Facebook page, and our website ( and it's email list. I've encouraged articles in The Reflector (Battleground) and there should be another coming out in The Columbian newspaper encouraging people to to volunteer to help make these trails a reality. With that in mind I am asking you to help me spread the word and encourage your members to come up to Jones Creek and help build some new trails. We are asking interested people to register on the website which will add them to our email list. It's free, they'll get a few emails per month, and they can be removed at any time by simply replying to any of the emails requesting that they be removed. It is the best way to stay informed of the latest news about the upcoming work parties and all other things Jones Creek.
If there are plans to bring a larger group (more than 2-3 people) please let me know so that I can prepare for more volunteers than normal.
Our next scheduled work party is this coming Friday and Saturday, June 13-14th. We'll meet at the Jones Creek staging area at 8:30 AM, leaving to the work site at 9:00. We try to finish at around 3:30-4:00 however volunteers may leave at any time. Bring gloves, lunch, and come dressed for the weather. Temporary Discovery Passes will be provided. This work party is open to the public and all volunteer hours count toward a free Discovery Pass. All volunteers will also receive a $10 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC gift card in care of the RMATV/MC Racegas program. I'm planning on providing lunch for all the volunteers at this Saturday's work party and hope to do so more often in the future.
Beyond that we have work parties tentatively scheduled for June 28th, July 11-13th, July 26th and beyond. We hope to finish the first ATV section this weekend, and begin construction of the first single-track section next. Again, registering on the website is the best way for volunteers to stay informed of the latest news.
    Thank you for your time,

Prison ministry

To all Chapter Presidents and Ladies of CMA,
It is once again invitation time for Washington Corrections Center for Women (Gig Harbor, Wash) ride-in prison visit.  We are sending this notice to our State Coordinators and State Area Reps who will in turn forward it to the Chapter Presidents.  When you get it, please send it in its entirety to all your chapter membership so everyone will have an equal opportunity to respond in a timely manner.   Those interested members will contact Jim McMurray, the Contact Person for this visit, directly at: or 360-471-0568
The visit will be Saturday, July 26th, 2014.  This is an opportunity to minister to the spiritual needs of those women incarcerated in the prison.   We will have a ride-in bike show, one-on-one time with the offenders, Christian music, and a (CMA) guest speaker planned.  Although this is a co-ed ride-in, the Purdy event gives the Ladies of CMA a special time of outreach. This will be a mid-day event. Jim will need the member’s name and a minimal amount of personal information.  As soon as he has their name, he will send them all the information necessary for the visit. Jim will then turn in all the names and information to the prison no later than June 26th! to give the prison time to complete background checks.  Therefore, it is important that the members send their names to Jim McMurray ASAP.  There will be more information coming to those who respond to the invitation as we get closer to the event.
If you have never experienced a prison visit, please pray about it and if you feel led by the Spirit, make a commitment to be part of this visit.

Do You Hear the Lord calling you??
It is my earthly pleasure and spiritual responsibility as Director, CMA Prison Ministries (Wash State) to once again announce our yearly ride-in prison visits.  These have been annual CMA sponsored events for many years and looked forward to by the offenders housed there, the Volunteers that enter the Institutes, as well as the prison staff and department heads at the prisons. There are many, many people along the way who are helping prepare the way for Jesus to enter those empty, aching hearts thru regular weekly visits to the prisons.  Some realize their spiritual calling consists of praying for those weekly and annual visits to culminate in another name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  And what about those offenders who know first-hand what it feels like to have a CMA member help lead them to the Lord?  And those who have turned their lives around and are ministering to their own incarcerated sisters in a positive, life-changing experience that makes their own confinement easier to do as well as the job of the staff easier and safer?  Who is left that can sit idly and say, “My opinions or solitary actions couldn’t possibly make a difference in someone’s life???  Please listen to your heart and if you hear that voice calling out to you to “step up” and give Prison ministry a try, let this be the year you become a different type of  “cure” for what those inmates need.  Be part of that Divine instrument that helps fill up an empty heart.  Prison ministry is not for everyone, but if this is the year that God has spoken to you, contact Jim McMurray at

From: JCTRA - New Trails! <>
Subject: New trail building work party Thursday and Saturday May, 29th thru 31st....
Date: May 23, 2014 at 8:46:46 AM PDT
To: mikeames <>
Reply-To: mikeames <>

We are working on finishing up the first section of new trails. We'll be out working on the new trail from Thursday, May 29th till Saturday May 31st.
On Thursday we plan to haul in blocks and harden a short, steep section of trail.
Friday we need to being hauling in and installing three culverts and continue with the necessary brushing out of the last third of this section.
On Saturday we plan to be hauling in rock and gravel to the sections of trail that need it. Of course the JCTRA 6x6's will do most of the hauling, but we will need lots of volunteers to spread rock, do some of the smaller shovel work that the machines can't do, and continue with the brushing and other tasks as necessary.
We have approximately 25 miles of ATV width and 10 miles of single-track trail to build over the next several years and volunteer help is crucial to making this happen. We'll be meeting at the Jones Creek staging area Thursday thru Saturday mornings between 8:30 and 9:00 AM, departing the staging area at 9:00 to go to the job site. The work day will end around 4:00-5:00 PM however no one is obligated to stay any longer than they wish.
If you need to arrive later, or are only available on Thursday or Friday, please email me in advance at so arrangements can be made to get you where you need to go.
Please bring work gloves, water, lunch, and come dressed for the weather. An ATV or dirt bike is not required, but you are welcome to bring one for transportation. In this case the job site is within walking distance from a road that you will be able to drive to.
JCTRA and/or the DNR will supply all necessary tools although you are welcome to bring your favorite shovel or rake if you like. Please do not bring personal chainsaws or power tools.
All volunteers will receive a free $10 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC gift card for each day you participate in the work party donated by Rocky Mountain ATV's Racegas program. This work party is open to the public and will qualify as volunteer hours toward a free Discovery Pass.
For questions or more information email We thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you on the trails ! ! !

JCTRA February's work party, Saturday February 22nd.

Jones Creek WA

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: JCTRA <>
Date: Wednesday, February 19, 2014
Subject: February's work party, Saturday February 22nd.

After a close look at the weather forecast we're going ahead with this weekends work party. The forecast is calling for sun and 50 degrees Friday and Saturday which is pretty good weather for a work party this time of year. Chris Briggs (DNR) went up today and checked out the work area and it doesn't look too wet. He found dry dirt just under the surface in the area we'll be working in.

Chris and I will be bringing an excavator up on Friday and doing all the prep work. Saturday we'll be using the excavator to load rock into 6x6's. We'll be hardening one water-bar with blocks and then hauling and spreading rock the remainder of the time.

For participating in this weekends work party you will earn a $10 gift card from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. All you have to do is sign in and print your information legibly and we'll do the rest. You'll get your gift card in the mail in about a month. You can use more than one gift card at a if you attend several work parties you can use several gift cards together which can really add up. RMATV uses your name and address only for the purpose of mailing out your gift card, however if you don't want to take part in the program there is the option to opt out on the sign in sheet.

For Saturdays work party, please be at the Jones Creek Staging Area by 9:00 AM. JCTRA will bring all necessary tools. Come prepared to work in the weather. Gloves, water, and a lunch are recommended.

This work party is open to the public and will qualify as volunteer hours toward a free Discovery Pass.

Bruce Whithorn has asked that I include an email from him inviting us to his Church...

Hello everyone,
I am writing this to all of you in order to invite you to the annual Cajun feed, Crab, Shrimp, and Cajun sausage. Our church puts this on once a year and it is time. The cost is $15.00 per person and it will be at Community Baptist Church in Battleground. It will be at 6:00 PM on Saturday March 1st. I am sorry about the short notice but I realized that there would not be a better way to communicate with everyone. There will not be any tickets at the door this year and we need to get spots reserved and paid for by Sunday the 23rd.
If you would like to attend please let me know.
Thank you,
Bruce A Whithorn II
